Naomi Rejoices in God's Graciousness

Rejoice with Naomi!
The ladies sat around their friend, Naomi, talking and laughing. It was a joyous occasion. Surely, their God was faithful, and Naomi's friends came to share in this time of blessing. God gave Naomi, the world's most caring daughter-in-law. And Ruth, her daughter-in-law, bore a son.  From her son's lineage, Jesus, the Savior of the world would come!

Those were happy days for Naomi and her family, and her friends came to share it with her.  But it wasn't always like this. There were days when Naomi walked through sadness, grief and pain, and things were extremely difficult for her.
The book of Ruth describes the story of Naomi and her husband, Elimelech, who migrated to another country with their two sons to find a better life.  But instead of finding the happiness and prosperity they hoped for, tragedy struck. Naomi's husband and her two sons died.
Naomi went out full and it seemed that she would go back to her country empty handed. But there was one important detail in that apparently dismal situation. Ruth, one of her daughters-in-law, insisted that she would home with Naomi.  Although her husband (Naomi's son) was dead she was committed to her mother-in-law, and was willing to go to a new country with her. She did not take "no" for an answer.
Naomi returned to her country with bitterness of heart. She told her friends, "Don't call me Naomi, call me Mara, because the Almighty has made my life bitter" (Ruth 1:20). Those words reflected the deep pain and agony of spirit within a woman who had lost so much. But our gracious Father, God, wasn't finished with his daughter Naomi yet.

God used Ruth as his instrument to change a Naomi's life. He moved her from a place of darkness to light, and a place of depression to joy! Now, Naomi's friends' voices rang out in praise with Ruth. Naomi laid Ruth's child in her lap, and cared for him.  And the women said, "Naomi has a son."
It was a time of pure joy! Truly God was faithful; it was time for rejoicing with Naomi!
What about you? What is the pain that you've been carrying that won’t let you go? You have prayed, but the situation continues. You probably feel that life is not fair. You can experience God's peace and supernatural intervention, like Naomi, today.

Trust God's love and faithfulness and stand on his Word for he will never let you down. Repeat this verse several times today, "I have the strength to face all conditions by the power that Christ gives me" (Philippians 4:13, GNB). Indeed, the Lord will give you the power not only to face the challenges but to overcome them.

Focus Verses: "I will restore to you the years, that the locust hath eaten ..." (Joel 2:25, KJV)

"For your daughter-in-law who loves you, who is better to you than seven sons ..." (Ruth 5:15).

Prayer: "I thank you Father that you are more than enough for the situations that I face today.  Your Word tells me that those who trust in you shall not be ashamed. Today, I believe that this is a time of restoration, an I will rejoice again! AMEN."
