Make Connections and Build Relationships

Focus Verse: “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own work, it helps other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love” (Ephesians 4:16, NLT).
The Apostle Paul uses the analogy of the human body to show how important it is for God’s children to connect with each other and work together in love.
Relationships are important to me. Wherever I find myself, I value the relationships that I have, and strive to maintain productive interactions. This gives me a sense of connection with people, and makes me a happier person. But it also builds up those I relate to and bring joy to their lives.
I must admit that sometimes the pressures of other commitments eat away the time I want to spend with the people I love. I sometimes don’t reach to others as I should because I am preoccupied with my own needs and challenges.
What a difference it makes to others when we bless and affirm others! People with whom we interact, want to know that they belong, and are appreciated and understood. I am very aware that although it takes time and effort to build relationships, it is well worth it.
Daily, our sense of well-being is enhanced as we reach out to help others. We will find it liberating to move out of our comfort zones, and find time to focus on the concerns and needs of others.

Focus Question: What steps are you taking to build strong, healthy relationships?
Prayer:Heavenly Father, thank you for the capacity you gave us to connect to each other through your Son, Jesus Christ. Today, by your power and love, we move to build strong, satisfying relationships. Amen.”
