Running Your Race Faithfully

Like good athletes, we have our eyes set on the prize, but we recognise that this can't be achieved by sitting idly by. While the athletes preparing for the Summer Olympics, spend a great deal of time on physical training, Christian's focus is on spiritual disciplines.

Through spiritual disciplines which include prayer and Bible studies, our spiritual muscles develop. Evermore, these disciplines lay the foundations for character building when we face adverse situations in our lives.
We must be steadfast in our commitment to run the race faithfully. But it is the Holy Spirit, our Helper and Comforter, who gives us the courage and endurance we need to face any situation and run the race faithfully. But we can never do it on our own strength we must allow the Holy Spirit to work through us to get the job done.

Focus Verses: "Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize.
Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last, but we do it to get a crown that will last forever" (1 Corinthians 9: 24-25).
Prayer: Heavenly Father, I thank you that I can depend on you totally for the help I need to run life's race faithfully. You have started the work in me, and you will be faithful to complete it. As I trust you, I receive your empowerment to complete the race you set before me. In Jesus' Name I pray. Amen.
